Crochet Basics

Pixels & Stitches

Each pixel equals one Single Crochet (sc) stitch.

Color Changes

Change color on the last pull-through of previous stitch.

Reading Patterns

  • Start from bottom, alternate directions L-to-R / R-to-L
  • Use numbers to count stitches
  • Print and cross off finished rows

Perler Beads Basics

Pixels & Beads

Each pixel equals one perler bead (standard 5mm midi bead). Perfect for decorations and accessories.

Large projects can be made in sections and joined. Buy enough beads in advance to avoid color variations. Use grid coordinate annotation mode.

Making Steps

  • Use pegboards (29×29 large square recommended)
  • Place beads by grid coordinates
  • Iron to fuse (medium heat, use parchment paper)
